Photos From Around the World Pyramids at Giza, Egypt Ellie Hilferty © 2002 Handed her first camera at the age of six, Ellie followed her father’s life-long interest in photography, finally putting together a career as a professional photographer when she retired from teaching reading in 1994. Her photos enhance her husband John’s travel writings and together they wander the globe, publishing their stories and photos in major magazines and newspapers, including Welkom, the on-board magazine of Holland America Line; Porthole Magazine, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Newark Star Ledger, The Boston Globe, Arlington Daily Herald, The Toronto Star, and local Vermont newspapers.
