The
first appointed minister was sent to Moretown in 1824,
this being a part of
the Barre circuit, Vermont district of the New England Conference.
The
first church building to be erected in Moretown was
on
the Common in 1832. The Moretown United Methodist Church
building
now in use was erected in the Village in 1853.
